An Interview with Leona
Our babysitter’s sister, Bridget Wade is a senior at the University of Tennessee. She had to do an interview for a class and chose Leona as her subject. Take a look at the finished product. She got an A!

The big day
Leona woke up at 12:30 am – “guess what mom, Santa was here!” Luckily, she went back to sleep until 8am, woke up her sister and they followed Santa’s magic dust downstairs to see what he brought for them.
Julia was of course excited to see her Cinderella Horse. “my favorite! my favorite!” she kept saying over and over.
The girls painted ceramic mugs for their dad. It was his favorite gift.

Meeting Santa
Leona had many things that she wanted to discuss with Santa. Unfortunately, she froze a bit (hard to believe) and couldn’t focus. She meant to ask him – “can you bring a real cat in your sleigh, what treat would you like us to leave you on Christmas eve, and to clarify whether her elf on the shelf was communicating with Santa.
At least she remembered to thank him for the gifts he brought her last year.
Julia on the other hand sat on his lap and grinned like a cheshire cat. She had no problem communicating that she wanted a Cinderella Horse as she’s said from the first time she’s been asked what she wants for Christmas.

Lemonade! Get your delicious lemonade here!
Leona joined the neighbor girls in selling lemonade during the Aid Atlanta charity walk through our neighborhood. They raised $200 in just over an hour for charity. I think she may have a future working at carnivals and fairs. She seems to know how to call in the customers.

Halloween 2009 – Cinderella and a Pirate Princess
Wow, it has been way too long since I’ve updated this blog. I’ll try to catch you up in the next posts.
Here are the girls dressed up for trick or treat tonight. The weather was rainy and cold but they had fun.
Julia is not crazy about the scary decorations. Whenever she spotted something a bit scary, she would turn her back to it and start sucking her thumb. “Carry me up, Mommy.”
Leona taught Julia the “Trick or Treat Smell My Feet” song and Julia would sing it to people at their door not realizing it was not a polite way to ask for candy.

Pumpkin Farm
Everyone has to visit a pumpkin farm in October, right? I wish I had my own farm – even I could grow a pumpkin. These farms near the city make a fortune!

Sewing Again
I bought this great fabric in Lawrence, Kansas this summer. Luckily, I remembered it existed in time for halloween and made this skirt for Julia.

Here she is with our babysitter, Ms. Cynthia.

6th Birthday

Leona didn’t ask for much for her birthday – a sleepover with 3 friends, a bike for her basket, and could we please get the cardboard box playhouse back that she used to play with (old airconditioner box.)
Thanks to Carole she received her bike basket. Now bunny can ride along on her adventures to Krispy Kreme and the park.
I convinced David to build a real playhouse behind our house instead of a cardboard box. Here it is under construction. I’ll post finished pics later.
