1st Ice Cream Cone

I took Leona and Julia to the Town Trolley. It’s a little ice cream place in Huntsville that has been open for 25 years. My favorite is the reeses peanut butter cup ice cream. I intended to just give Julia some licks of my cone but she insisted on holding it. So, she got her own! Most of you know that my car is a pit anyway so there wasn’t too much harm done. Seeing her face was worth every drip.

The County Fair!

We went to the County Fair twice this week. Leona had so much fun. We rode the rides, played some games, pet the animals and of course ate the fair food. Leona particularly likes the bunny barn and the ferris wheel. Here’s a pic of Leona at the top.

Ohio Caverns

Did you know that Ohio is home to one of the most beautiful caverns in the United States? We went to Ohio Caverns this week – a place where both Mom and I had been a few times before on school trips.

Leona had fun at the start of the tour line with her own flash light. She learned about stalactites and stalagmites. Julia sucked her thumb the whole time – except when the tour guide spoke and then she tried to mumble along with him.

Every time we’re all together we say we’re going to get a photo of the girls. In many cases, we even have coordinating outfits. It always seem like we forget about the photo until one of us is packing up the car and ready to leave. So, once again, we quickly got the girls together (sans matching outfits) and took a few pics. It is absolutely impossible to get them all smiling – or even looking at the camera – at the same time. They’re still cute.

New camera and a visit from Chloe

We had a fun afternoon with my cousin Abi and her daughter Chloe. The girls played on the beach together. Julia ate sand. Chloe is cute as a button and wore her stylish sunglasses most of the afternoon. She put up with me snapping pictures of her while I tried out my new camera. She’s the perfect model.
