Labor Day at Lake Oconee

We had a fun time at the lake with Mom, Dad, Ryan, Carly and Minnie.

1st Day of School

So far so good. After the first day Leona declared “I feel like I’m 6 and a half. Maybe they are discussing subjects too mature for her age. Should I be concerned?

No matter. She loves her new backpack….and a new girl in her class with earrings.

Poor Gizmo

Wendy babysat for us last Saturday night. She brought her dog Gizmo. Leona loves that dog and amazingly Gizmo puts up with her – probably because she gives Gizmo a ridiculous amount of treats. They took some funny photos of Leona posing with Gizmo or covering Gizmo up with her bunny. Thank you Wendy for the entertainment!

Trip to the Zoo

I always say if I ever won the lottery I would buy Leona her very own carousel. I don’t think there is anything that makes her happier and the girl never tires of them. Her favorite thing about going to the zoo is of course the carousel and this trip was even more special because Julia got to ride with her.

Together again

You may remember when Leona was age 1-3 that we often spoke of getting together with her friends Claudia and Lucy. We were new moms back then – even super moms you might say.  We came up with a fun activity or craft for those girls every week. Then Claudia and her family moved away. I’m going to blame them on the fact that our activities have slowed down and not on the fact that I’m getting tired and lazy.

Anyway, we all had great times together and we were able to have fun together again this past week when Nancy and Claudia (and her new baby brother James) came for a visit.  The girls swam together and made cookies together and generally acted like hams in front of the camera. It was great.  The moms had a lot of fun together too.

Reunited!

Leona and Sam finally had a playdate (and sleepover). When we got back from Ohio, Sam was in Montana so they hadn’t been together for about 5 weeks. A lifetime when you are 4.

It took them a little while to get back in sync but by morning they were already picking out coordinating outfits.
