Country Girls Can Survive
Julia and Riley had a fun day in the sun exploring a farm/polo field on Thursday. They fed apples to the horses and played in the creek. We had a hard time getting them to leave!

Good Day Your Majesty
We went to the Renaissance Festival on Saturday. Despite a long wait in traffic, we had a great time. We wish we had the energy to stay longer.
The girls dressed up and were confused yet delighted by all the other attendees who were dress up as well. They received a lot of bows and comments from the actors and other attendees as Leona and Julia were dressed as “royalty.” This renaissance culture is a bit strange I must say but lots of fun for a couple of little girls who like to play dress up.
We went with our friends the Crenshaws. Leona and her friend Lucy participated in a ceremony with Queen Anne Boleyn!

Snowing in Atlanta
Can you believe it? It’s March 1st! It snowed those huge, wet, flakes today for about five hours. Not much stuck to the ground but the girls had a fun time anyway.

My New Painting
Carly’s mom, Susan Linville, is a talented artist. Check out the painting she did of Leona in Spello, Italy when she was 19 months old.
I love seeing it every day and the reminder of that amazing vacation. We’re going again this June!! Anyone want to join us?

Christmas Card Photos
Why didn’t anyone tell me how difficult it is to get two kids to look decent in a single photo? I had big plans for a photographer to take one great photo of the girls together. Well, Julia sucked her thumb the whole time and Leona refused to cooperate. So, we got a couple of good shots of each of them separately but not the pic I was looking for.
Check out those photos here: http://helmuthphoto.typepad.com/helmuth_photography/2008/11/cuteness.html
So, we tried on our own at an old shack on the side of the road. See what I mean? Impossible! Check your mailbox for the”money shot.” Happy Holidays!

Right on time – throwing fits
I remember when Leona was Julia’s age. She used to throw herself down on the ground and scream when she didn’t get her way. Now it is Julia’s turn. On this day, she was mad because I took the paintbrush away.
